Kep, the southwestern coastal town near Kampot, has been identified as a future ecotourism hub and now plans are underway to widen the coastal line by 10X. Currently, the recreational area measures only 300 meters despite having a coastline of over 27km. The plan is to develop the recreational area to an expanded 3km along the coast.
The plans should be completed for submission to the Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction around Khmer New Year, according to the Post.
