Ream, Sihanoukville is just 200 km from Phnom Penh, and now easily accessible via newly built expressway. It’s beautiful coastline has been a tourist magnet for years. Now the Bay of Lights mega project in Ream promises to be one of the most epic real estate development projects in all of Cambodia, cementing Sihanoukville as a top destination for adventurous Cambodians as well as upmarket international visitors alike.
The 934 hectare futuristic city by Canopy Sands Development Co Ltd will feature nine distinct districts: Gateway, Riverside, Golf, CBD, Marina, Downtown East, Downtown West, South and Seagate. With a completion date of 2030, Bay of Lights broke ground with a ceremony on December 20th.
The first area to be completed will be the entertainment zone, featuring 60 cabin lodges along the beautiful coast, 1.3 km, 21 lap go-kart track, beach club, paintball facilities, poolside bar, sailing club, permanent DJ booth for rotating international DJs, and even a 32 meter reverse bungee jump area. This entertainment hub is anticipated to be completed by the first half of 2023, which seems ambitious but exciting.
Prince Real Estate Group is the secondary development partner. Said Edward Lee, CEO of Prince Real Estate Group:
we envisage providing job opportunities and training young Cambodian professionals, and in turn inject enormous momentum into the urban development and national economy of Cambodia, specifically Preah Sihanouk province.
The groundbreaking ceremony was overseen by Canopy Sands Development Co Ltd leadership and Sihanoukville Provincial Governor HE Kuoch Chamroeun.
