Kampot, Cambodia is a river town on the way to the southern coastal town of Kep (Kroeng Kaeb). It is a beautiful, French-inspired and increasingly hip destination for visitors and expats alike. Emily, an Australian writer and photographer behind Wander Lush published a great article on 41 Awesome Things to Do in Kampot.
From Youtube, cute couple Jack and Gab (JackandGabExplore) also did a great video on their time exploring Kampot:
Of course, part of Kampot’s appeal is its proximity to Kep, which they also did a nice video of. They focused on the crab market, which is appropriate since Kep is known for its abundance of crab and seafood in general. The combination of Kampot’s peppers and Kep’s crab makes for a delicious dish simply called pepper crab – a dish you have to try when in Kep.
Kampot Hotels
Our favorite Kampot hotel is the Pippali boutique hotel. It is the perfect balance of affordability and high-end aesthetic. Featuring a garden and a huge shaded pool, the Pippali is centrally located and a great choice for couples and families alike.
